Our People

We believe in team work. We know that we’re greater than the sum of our parts and that the more diverse our teams are, the more interesting and exciting our ideas will be. So we do whatever we can to make this happen.

The people who work at Strauss Water come from many different backgrounds, cultures, religions, and have different opinions and outlooks. This is how we create a work culture that’s open to everyone’s ideas, that’s wildly creative, and welcomes criticism. We make sure that diversity is really part of who we are by making it part of our talent management, recruitment and development processes.

One way in which we work to ensure that we are a diverse group is by employing people with special needs at our factories. While these employees benefit from a welcoming work environment, we benefit from their presence and see this as a basic responsibility.

Diversity is also about ensuring that women are given equal opportunities. Strauss Water lives the Strauss Group-wide focus on promoting and developing women, with women as 52% of our employees and 40% of our senior management.

The diversity that people bring to Strauss Water is what makes working here an exciting and motivating experience.

Environment

Reducing Plastic

Ironically, the mountains you often see on the labels of plastic water bottles are really symbols of the mountains of garbage that bottled water consumption generates every year. Out of the approximately 50 billion bottles of water bought each year, 80% aren’t recycled and end up in landfills. That’s about 120 million tons of waste a year that will take more or less 450 years to decompose.

With every glass of water that is drunk from our WaterBars, less plastic is produced, less energy is consumed, less waste is generated…and our planet is better off.

Reducing Energy

Most energy comes from dwindling natural resources. This is not only an environmental risk but also affects each of us when it comes to our increasing home electric bills or the fuel we consume driving our car.
Reducing the energy consumption of our products is an important goal for us, both in protecting our environment and ensuring that our customers can also consume their water responsibly in their homes.
Our products are Energy Star certified, which confirms they’re energy efficient,

Reducing the Carbon Footprint

Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas that is considered the main cause of climate change. While carbon dioxide is emitted from natural sources, the emissions from human activities, for example electricity production and gasoline consumption, are the main cause of climate change.

Our carbon footprint is reported to the Carbon Disclosure Project organization as part of Strauss Group's overall reporting. It’s important for us to measure our carbon emissions and reduce them.
